It seems like only yesterday I was shivering in the cold winter air, but May is here, bringing sunshine, blooming flowers and my wonderful hummingbirds!
I can’t tell you how much I look forward to the arrival of hummingbirds every year. Here in Gettysburg, PA, that is usually between April 18-25.

Their arrival means May is right around the corner, and that means Summer is close!
I have two hummingbird feeders, as well as a regular bird feeder within sight of my “writing chair,” so needless to say, I spend a good bit of time just staring at them. (And getting up to take photos).

What Am I Working On?
It’s been quite a long time since I’ve written a post on this page, because I’ve been working on re-designing my website. I’ll be moving it to a new host soon, and that has taken quite a bit of time.
But I AM working on a new book! It will be a bit like Lacewood, because it’s a dual-era novel, but it’s also a mystery with a bit of suspense.
I don’t really have a working title yet, but I hope (fingers crossed) that it gets released in April 2025.
I hope you’re looking forward to it as much as I am! If you want to follow along on my summer travels or find inspiration for historic road trips, make sure you check out Past Lane Travels.
